Frequently Asked Questions About Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

Our IOP is a flexible treatment option designed for individuals transitioning from a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) or those needing structured support without residential care constraints. It allows clients to maintain their daily responsibilities while receiving comprehensive treatment.

IOP is ideal for individuals who have completed a more intensive level of care like PHP and are ready to apply learned skills in real-world settings. It suits those who need ongoing support but have the stability to handle more personal responsibility in their recovery journey.

The program requires participation three days a week, with each session lasting a minimum of four hours. This schedule provides the balance needed to engage in treatment while managing personal, work, or academic commitments.

Clients benefit from a mix of group therapy and individual programming, covering at least 12 hours of therapeutic engagement per week. The IOP also includes neurofeedback, live blood cell analysis, and guided imagery to support holistic recovery.

IOP offers flexibility, allowing clients to integrate treatment with daily life activities. It emphasizes personal responsibility, providing a structured environment where clients can practice coping skills and develop relapse prevention strategies.

Progress is evaluated through regular assessments by licensed clinicians, weekly individual therapy sessions, and ongoing case management. Clients also have access to psychiatric support as needed, ensuring a comprehensive approach to their recovery.

Family involvement is encouraged to support the client’s recovery process. Family contact notes are maintained throughout treatment, with documentation provided if family involvement is not pursued.

The IOP equips clients with essential life skills and relapse prevention strategies. By fostering a support system and encouraging active participation in treatment, clients are prepared to transition smoothly to the General Outpatient Program (GOP) or other appropriate care levels.

Clients must demonstrate sobriety with zero positive UA results, responsibly manage medications, maintain employment or education, and actively participate in group activities and discussions. They should also have an updated treatment plan for the GOP level of care.

Each client receives an individualized treatment plan tailored to their specific needs and goals. Personalized protocols for neurofeedback and continuous engagement with therapists and case managers ensure that each client’s unique recovery journey is supported effectively.
